Descendants of Peres Andrews

Poland, Maine was originally known as the Bakerstown Plantation in the County of Cumberland. On 17 Feb 1795 the plantation of Bakerstown, in the District of Maine, was incorporated by the General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as the town of Poland. 1 Here we begin the known Andrews family saga:

Peres Andrews was born in 1769, Bakerstown Plantation, Cumberland Co., Maine. He married 7-Oct-1788, 2 Sarah Richardson who was born in Tolland, Connecticut. 3 There is a Peress Andrews on the tax rolls for Poland, ME, October, 1798, 4 and a Peres Andrews on the voters list of Minot in 1800. 5 Peres and Sarah had seven children. 6

  • 2. v Marshall Andrews born 24-Apr-1804, Minot, Cumberland Co., Maine. 11 (The northeastern part of Poland was set off on 18 Feb 1802 as the town of Minot.) 12
  • vi Hiram Andrews born 26-Aug-1808, Buckfield, Oxford Co., Maine. 13
  • vii Phobe Andrews born 10-Oct-1811, Buckfield, Oxford Co., Maine. 14
